2006 FBISD National Merit Semifinalists
The Fort Bend Independent School District is proud to announce the names of 54 FBISD 
students who have been named semifinalists in the 2006 National Merit Scholarship 
Program. The 54 FBISD semifinalists are among more than 1.3 million students in over 
21,000 United States high schools who entered the Merit Program as juniors by taking 
the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Using this qualifying test as an 
initial screen of program entrants, the highest scorers in each state were designated 
semifinalists, in numbers representing less than one percent of the state's high 
school graduating class. Fort Bend ISD's semifinalists by campus are: 
Austin High School – Ravi Antani, Ellen Blinka, Vicki Chang, David Fischer, Kevin Le, Jocelyn 
Lee, Anissa Meher-Homji, Kevin Penner, Srikanth Thiyagarajan, and Jing Zhou

Farrell, Stephen Gilbert, Megan Harris, Shirin Hasan, Tzu-Hsuan Hsiung, Jason Hsu,

Semifinalists who meet eligibility standards (students must submit an application, 
high school record, and SAT I scores among other requirements) will be among the 
15,000 National Merit Finalists named in February 2006.
